Coach Passenger Service Provider of the Year
This award is designed to recognise and reward providers of services who have made outstanding efforts to accommodate, attract, and welcome coaches, their drivers and their passengers. This award is divided into four sub-categories and prizes are awarded in each.
In addition, in 2013 for the first time, the judges named a single overall winner, who is named Coach Passenger Service Provider of the Year.
Winner: Greatdays Travel Group
Cheshire-based Greatdays is one of the UK's leading tour wholesalers to the coaching industry. It was founded in 1985, by present Chairman John Beaumont, former MD and owner of Shearings Holidays.
This year Greatdays will assist over 80,000 tourists travelling via UK coach operators in the UK, central Europe, Worldwide and Disneyland Paris.
The company is well placed to expand in 2013 and beyond with the acquisition of spacious new premises with expanded training and staff facilities.
Following the purchase of day trip operator “Welcome Days Out”, Greatdays are the only wholesalers offering a choice of gently-paced day trips. A typical day trip will include a circular scenic tour with guide, morning coffee, 2 course lunch and entrance to a tourist attraction. These programmes have been extended for 2013 and now include the North West, South East, South West, Heart of England and the North East.
A new look website is another 2013 development, with a host of additional features.
Overall, the judges were impressed by the company’s forward-looking attitude in the current climate, the attention to detail and the strong emphasis on customer service - offering operators and group organisers some "great tours on a plate".
