CPT President Bill Hiron to present 2015 Awards as tickets go on sale
The UK Coach Awards have announced that this year Guest of Honour will be Bill Hiron, the current President of bus and coach industry trade association the Confederation of Passenger Transport. He will present the awards to winners at the ceremony, which is to be compered once again by the BBC's Carol Kirkwood.
The event, to be held at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 23 April, is designed to celebrate all that's best in UK coach operations.
Bill Hiron was elected President of CPT in January 2015 after a long and distinguished career in the industry, working for the National Bus Company, Western Travel, Stagecoach, FirstGroup and latterly Stephensons of Essex - a small independent operator which has grown from a single vehicle in the 1970s to a fleet of 90 buses and coaches. The company operates in south, mid Essex and west Suffolk, from a headquarters at Rochford, near Southend-on-Sea, with depots at Maldon, Witham and Haverhill.
The UK Coach Awards recognise and reward excellence and good practice amongst coach operators and their staff, looking for the individuals and operators who go that extra mile to make their customers' trip that extra bit special.
UK Coach Awards chairman Allan Edmondson said, "We're delighted that Bill is able to accept our invitation to present the prizes. His long experience of the industry and inpsiring leadership at Stephensons both make him an ideal person to greet our winners on 23 April. It will also be a real pleasure to welcome Carol Kirkwood to our event once more - her warmth, charm and professionalism have made her a firm favourite with the whole industry since we first welcomed her in 2009."
Booking for the event is now open, and further details can be seen by clicking here.
