Our Charity Partner
UK Coach Awards has teamed up with the Family Holiday Association who provide breaks for UK families struggling with issues such as disability, severe and sudden illness, bereavement, mental health issues and domestic violence, of course this immediately resonated with us as part of the Coach Industry, it also quickly became apparent that the provision of transport would be a particularly welcome improvement and allow FHA to offer many more breaks and Holidays. we will be supporting FHA throughout the year, and at our annual Awards event.
What can Coach Operators do for FHA
The Family Holiday Association provide very much needed breaks and respite to families who would otherwise not get these. The Coach Industry is in an ideal position to provide help directly to the families who need it. So here are some suggestions should you wish to help in some way;
- Donation of individual tickets on your current routes between March to October
This may support families taking a short break or day out. Some of the most successful projects have provided transport tickets and then the families do the rest!
- Donation of whole coach travel on agreed date/s between March to October
Provide a whole coach for return travel to enable a group to visit the seaside or an attraction. Many of the families lack the confidence to take trips by themselves and so organisations take groups of families away together to provide a supportive environment.
- Extend FHAs portfolio of destinations
Introduce your destination partners to FHA
- Join in Fundraising activities
Either join with FHA in their novel fund raising activities or combine with your own.
- Financial Donation
At the annual awards evening or anytime!
- Spread the word
Let your Industry peers and colleagues know about FHA and the fabulous work you are doing in partnership,
Independent Judging and How it Works
Independent, expert judging is a vital element of the 2019 UK Coach Awards, as it has been ever since they started in 2009, and its delivery is a key corporate objective for the company.
"It was a lesson we had applied from Day One in launching the UK Bus Awards in the mid 1990s," recalls Chris Cheek. "If an award scheme is to have credibility, and the prizes are to be valued, then it is vital that entries are judged fairly and objectively against the agreed criteria by independent expert judges. We carried this over to the UK Coach Awards in 2009."
